How would you feel if your sibling robbed the family inheritance and then ran away with it all. What would you think about someone who married you and then said, whoops I really wanted to marry your sibling. You probably would think what a jerk, he deserves all he gets. Jacob is that jerk and he didn’t do family well at all. However, for all his messed up mistakes God showed Jacob Mercy... God renamed him with a name that became a nation which exists to this day. Yep! there is great hope for all jerks, but it will require going toe to toe with Jesus and that could hurt.
